Remember when you were a kid and socks were regarded just as absolutely the worst present? Like right up there with "educational toys" and itchy wool sweaters? Anything deemed remotely practical was deplored and pout-inducing. In the words of Julia's stepson who received dog-themed pajamas one christmas, "I don't want 'em. Goddamn dalmatians."
But now that I am in my mid-twenties all I really want is practical stuff like a garlic press, a humidifier, a crock-pot, long underwear...the list goes on. The absolute tops though, would be a stocking full of stockings. Socks that is.
These days, socks are a welcome gift not just due to the practical nature of the item (we do live in Montana after all), but because they come in some pretty darn cute styles.
I don't know any Betty's that would turn up their nose at some cute knee-highs decorated with mini-horses.
Portland-based Sock It To Me makes so many awesome prints these days that it's hard to choose just one. But at $8 a pop, you don't have too!
