Courtney Blazon Art Show and New Statriot Release!

Betty's Divine is excited to host a very special art show featuring both the paintings and drawings of local artiste Courtney Blazon and a brand spanking new t-shirt print from Statriot Designs!

A Blazon creation can bring you back to childhood fantasies; days where you used lie in the grass and entertain yourself for hours simply from your own imagination. But look closer and you will see things are a little more crooked and dark than simple friendly fantastical images. The well dressed frog displays his stomach organs, the cherubic children are roasting an old man on a spit, and beside the doll house, a dragon lies in wait.

"My drawings delve into the imagination and explore the lines between the fantasies of a cerebral life and the harsh realities of the natural world. It is in the intricacies of my my drawing's fabric that the magic of these two worlds collide." -- Courtney Blazon, herself.

Many of her pieces are framed in antique windows giving some of the more spectral images a romantic and dreamy vibe. Anyone who has seen one of her bookmarks or cards has surely noted the incredible detail. Each piece looks like it took about a year to make, which is how long one could spend gazing at one. I don't want to spoil the show by revealing too many images, so I will simply leave you with a beautiful lady with seaweed hair who looks like she can't be trusted.

And please stop by to check out the latest Monfuckintana shirt exclusively sold at Betty's Divine. Designed by Kari Workman, a recent grad of Fine Arts from UM, this sweet tee features everyone's favorite runner-up: the turkey. In a beautiful coral color for the ladies and a masculine cream for the men, rocking this shirt will show the world that YOU are a statriot.

And tonight ONLY this awesome shirt will be on sale at Betty's for a mere $20. Whattabahgain.

As usual, join us between 5-8 for Bernice's goodies and free wine, yo.
