ChiWeenie.

At a satiating and entertaining lunch date at IZA today, Lael and I learned about The ChiWeenie for the first time. While it seems like something you might have for lunch, a ChiWeenie is actually a Chihuahua crossed with a Dachshund! Cute.

Our friend Melissa now has one. She's called Scrap.

She found her living alone in the woods of Northern California, fending for herself against the fierce raccoon population. Apparently there is an overpopulation (of small dogs, not sure about raccoons...) in California, especially in the animal shelters, because of the accessory-dog fad. It's a very sad thing. We at Betty's like dogs, but not as fashion statements.
We do, however, carry a line of particularly amazing boots that are named after Chihuahuas. They're called GeeWaWa. It may be the height of summer here in Missoula, but in the fashion world Fall is basically upon us. That means we'll be getting in some GeeWaWa's, along with boat-fulls of other fabulous boots, in the coming weeks!

If you would like to adopt a Chihuahua from a California animal shelter apparently there is a Canadian woman who will pay for the airfare! That way you can get a ChiWeenie and still have some $$ leftover for some GeeWaWas!
