Looking forward to Summer? Us too. Strolling around town in a floral sundress, straw bag in one hand, ice cream cone in the other, a summer cloche-style hat on your head, and round shades to protect your eyes...
And what's on your feet?
Move over flippy-floppies, there is a new summer shoe in town! Specifically, the lovely Salt Water Sandal! Around Betty's we have been channeling a real Great-Gatsby-goes-to-Maui vibe for Spring. And these Salt Waters are just the perfect addition for that look. And at $36 a pair, they really won't break the bank either.
Salt Waters were originally a children's sandal, designed in the 1940s. Wikipedia tells me that it started because of a leather shortage during the war. Salt Waters were a great alternative because they could be made with just some leather scraps left over from making men's shoes.
The red, white, or blue would be perfect for that mid-summer barbeque! I know it's March, and that it snowed this morning, but Spring is right around the corner!
The black sandals are adorable too, but my personal favorites are the light pink ones...
And good news for the large-footed...Salt Waters run big! I fit my size-niners into a 7! The first time since I was seven years old I think....
