A Treatise for Train Travel.
What, tell me, is a railroad town...without a passenger rail line! Oh, woe is me...
A mere hop and a skip from Betty's front door lies the old Missoula passenger depot, just begging to be restored to it's former use once again.
Oh, to return to the days when train travel was luxurious...
But wait...you still can! This journey will take you up north to Whitefish, where The Empire Builder powers up and over Marias Pass to Chicago...
To a quiet little mountain inn built in 1939 to house the railroad workers charged with the duty of keeping the tracks free of snow.
This journey most certainly involves dressing the part of a train traveler, as well as carrying the lovely luggage of the past...
Fur coats and hats will be necessary to keep one warm and cozy in the snow.
As are dainty textured tights and 1940's era telephone operator footwear.
Sit, relax, play a game of cards...and watch the beautiful scenery of Glacier National Park sail by.
It's not just toddler boys who are obsessed with trains these days...
