Your Inner Ballerina...

Everytime I see a ballet, whether on a stage or on film, I get this feeling like I may have missed my calling.  Not that I think I'm a really good dancer or particularly graceful, but it just looks so appealing.
The outfits! The stretching! The long and lean muscles that glide through the air....sigh...

But luckily for me, today's fashions trends lean heavily towards the ballerina-esque.  Even if we can't be ballerinas, at least we can dress like one! The fashion mags are full of sequinned tops and plenty of tutu-like skirts.
The post practice look is in too, defined by oversize wrap sweaters with leggings, leg warmers, and cool boots.

Sweetheart necklines, sheer tops, layers of tulle, and scoop backs are making a hard and fast comeback. The ballerina trend even extends to accessories and hair styling with tight top knots all the rage, as well as head scarves and garish hair bows and crowns.

We at Betty's were inspired for our New Year's outfits by Ballerina style.  Feast your eyes on our Mercedes modelling the best of Ballerina shtuff for NYE!

The movement of the gown is very important to achieve that ballerina look!  Stay with pale pinks and creamy whites to express your inner Odette.  And of course, complete the look with a bejeweled headband to make sure the world knows just what a star you are.

You could always follow Mercedes' lead and take the dancer theme quite literally with a leotard and tights!
