A Nonsensical First Friday At Betty's

Ah, that's every First Friday at Betty's you might say. But today, and all through this month, we will be hosting a very special kind of nonsense: the work of Mr. Nicholas Kakavas. His show, entitled (you guessed it) "Nonsense," is a mixed media response to the wild random thoughts that burrow through his mind on a daily basis.

As you can see, Nick is a very special person. He is a graduate of the Rocky Mountain School of Photography and is an extremely talented photographer. But you won't see any of his photographs tonight.

Instead, he will be showcasing his work with resin and collages, as well as his large scale spray-paintings on antique windows.

Scary, hilarious, colorful, weird, and utter nonsense. A perfect fit for the walls at Betty's.

There is an odd serenity to some of the resin pieces. Almost as if Nick transferred his random thoughts to a 3-D form and then smoothed them with a resin coating.

A creative, random, and brillant human, Kakavas celebrates the boundless freedom of outsider art through his wacky displays. Come by tonight from 5-8 to enjoy free booze and Bernice's goodies.
