Be Divine...Be Dolly

In case you haven't seen it yet, we wanted to post a few pics of our best holiday window ever!!
Who better to inspire a festive window than the one and only Dolly Parton! The night before Thanksgiving all the Betty's elves gathered to transform the window into a Winter Wonderland!

Our dear friend Julie came over as well to work on the screaming shoe couch (We're sure that if you have ever sat on this golden throne, you have noticed that there is something very, very wrong with it's inner workings...). She learned how to do upholstery work from her mother, and was appalled to see the tangled springs underneath the seat.
No wonder it was making a terrible sound every time someone tried on shoes!

The key ingredients for the best holiday window ever are: barn door back drop; lots of Dolly records; a home-made American Flag strung with Xmas lights (the best garage sale find of the Summer, by the way);

...faux snow; pearls; warm tights;
...a rocking chair and braided rug; amazing shoes; western inspired handbags;

...lots of large, round ornaments;

...blinking movie-star lights;

...sequins; short skirts; plaid; denim trousers and vest; a little mannequin enhancement-wink, wink; old-timey lace curtains;
...pearls; red lipstick; nail polish; fur; party dresses........

Once it was done we all ate pecan pie and admired our masterpiece. It kind of looks like a shrine to Dolly you might find in some farmer's barn, blinged out for Christmas.

Our male mannequin even donned a Kenny Rogers inspired sweater!

Julie finished the shoe couch! It is so much happier now, and you will be too when you sit on it!
