Amanda Bandanas

The whole Americana look is going off in the fashion and pop culture world this season, and it's always big here at Betty's Divine... That's why when performance artist Amanda Browder (born and bred Missoulian, now living and working in Brooklyn...her Mom actually delivered my firstborn!) contacted us about carrying her "Amanda Bandanas" (see picture below of one on Lael)

We of course responded back with a : "Hell Yeah!"

They are mostly constructed from vintage bandanas, fabrics and beads...they are just what we've been looking for! And hopefully you too... Then today, Amanda emailed me this picture: A giant Amanda-bandana! Of course, we ordered them for the store! Just kidding!!! See...Amanda does some amazing large-scale fabric installations, and she is apparently taking the bandanas to a large scale!

Look what she did in Chicago:

Here's her description: After living in the mid-west for many years, I became saddened by the lack of color during the Winter months. To combat this sadness I made Rapunzel. This was sewn with all the fabric I had collected in 5 years. I draped it outside my apartment window in Chicago. It was an opening that lasted one day, and the neighbors were surprised. rapunzel.html Amazing, right? So, for a mere $30 you can own a piece of this artist's ART!
