2011. Bring it.

New Year's Eve is always a great time to bust out the craziest most outlandish pieces in your closet...My eldest daughter helped me get dressed for work this morning, pulled out a gold leather jacket and said "party time!!!" That's what we need to embrace on this last day of 2010...

Here's some suggestions for you, direct from Betty:

Matching outfits are always fun. It makes it feel like your on some kind of team. Especially if a pantsuit is involved. I really hope the pant suit stays hip for 2011...you know you can always find one any time of the year here at Bettys!

Sequins.

Duh.

Cover your body with them. Break out the Bedazzler.

If your frightened of so much sparkle, try some shiny earrings or a blingy hairclip or two. Or twenty five....C'mon, it IS New Year's Eve!

Sequins is so last decade though...update your New Year's look with ALL white this year! Embrace your inner Snow Queen for 2011! Be leery of drinking red wine though...definitely put a Madame Paulette Stain Kit in your Clutch.

It's supposed to be sub-zero in temperature out there, so keep warm tonight with colorful tights, a pair of high-heeled booties, and a fling in an errant phone booth...if you can find one!

Leave the peep toe heels at home unless you want to lose a toe to frostbite...Equestrian inspired boots, a pair of colorful pumps or (our new fave for 2011!!!) T-strap clogs will treat you much better, and hopefully won't lead to a heel hangover on New Year's Day after all that dancing and ringing in the new year...

If you've got a "wild hair"...throw on a wig! They were all the rage in the 1950's...my Great Grandmother wore different ones to match her outfits...she eventually lost all her natural hair because of this, so don't go overboard...

It's always a little awkward showing up at a party wearing the same outfit as another Gal. Avoid this sticky situation by wearing something totally out there that NOBODY else will be wearing!

Feathers are perfect for any situation. We'll just leave it at that....

A warm coat will be essential! So will a bit of fake fur!

Whatever you wear, stay warm and safe and have a lovely time! See ya next year!
