4 Girls, 4 Days, 23 pairs of Shoes, part deuce...

Okay, let us get back to telling you about our most latest and greatest buying trip to sunny So- Cal....
Mere minutes after encountering the Inconceivable Man on the PCH, we lunched on a large plate of deep fried Seafood Special at this quaint roadside fish shack...it was mentioned by name in a Jonathan Lethem book (You Don't Love Me Yet), which we had both read for our esteemed book club a year or so back.

The last chapter of the book also placed the Hipster protagonist and his lover at a scenic, semi-hidden beach called El Matador, so we ventured there next and as we descended the 300 stairs to the sandy, rock strewn beach, we were blown away by the beauty that lay before us:

There were lots of caves....

And large rocks with huge pelicans perched a top....at first we thought they were people, they were so large! It was so spectacular, here's another glimpse of it:

Lael and I played the part of the hipster protagonist and his lover quite well, we even saw porpoises just like they did.....we also felt like two old ladies on a tour through a tropical village. We like to maintain our image as the Indigo Girls doppelgangers, and as you can see in this pic we're doing pretty well with that.

We were armed with sunscreen, beach scarves, and a six pack of Tecate with a freshly-picked lime and a razor blade to slice it up for us! It was quite refreshing. A seagull tried to steal it all from us at one point.

This beach was so stunningly beautiful that it seemed to be a big destination for models and photographers, and we found ourselves surrounded by constant photo shoots....we took a photo of a photo shoot here:

We found these birds to be a bit more interesting though.....

Tecate Headstand.

Our current book club book (with introduction by Jonathan Letham yet again) and accompanying reading material for the afternoon...we just ended up watching the photo shoots however. Work days like this make one feel as though life is meaningful.

Hours later when we went to leave the same photo shoot was still going on. I bet that guy got 100,000 photos of that little black bikini.

We picked up our fellow travelers that evening, and spent our St. Patty's day night drinking whiskey at a strip-mall-dive-bar and getting green beer spilled on us by some drunken men in green tee shirts. The music was good....
Carley challenged us to 4 days of LA hair...we sadly only got one picture of our sun drenched styles...but don't they look just lovely with the bougainvillea in the background?

Vanessa and Danielle dropped us off downtown and we got right to work! There's many distractions there though, like these men's elephant undies....

We were tempted to purchase some shapewear for the store, but we spared you....

While we hustled around downtown, buying sundresses and nailpolish for Missoula, our travel companions took our advice and went to El Matador Beach as well:

Such good swimsuit models....speaking of, we just received a box full of Insight Suits to die for....
Sadly, the fog rolled in and their visit was cut short...

Going with the hair theme, we just had snatch a shot of this adorable lady with purple hair! Aimee is totally gonna have purple hair when she get older.

Convertible hair.

Granny Kitty!

I love all cats. Even fake ones. This is my hair shot too.

Hop Louie. A lovely, dark, interesting place to grab a refreshing beverage while in Chinatown.

Later that evening we went to El Cid to see some cabaret dancers.

The next morning we went to the old Hispanic district which is right next to Chinatown.

We had our best meal of the entire trip here-huevos any way you want them, complemented by horchada. Muy rico!

Unfortunately, we were a little early and we didn't have our pets with us because there is going to be a whole week where you can bring your animals down to Olvera St. to have them blessed.
Our dear friend Matty was also in LA buying for Coco! We had a fabulous evening with him at the Edison in the downtown area. We got camera blocked after only a few shots so you should go to their website to see just how amazing this place is....www.edisondowntown.com.

Ahh, what a trip. You will most likely be able to spot some influences from it translated into the clothing, jewelry and accessories rollin' into the store in the next few weeks....
